National Payroll Institute 2024 Advocacy Survey Contest Rules

To Enter: No purchase necessary. Any resident of Canada who has reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence who is working in Canada and who submits their name, employer, phone number and email address along with a complete response to the National Payroll Institute’s 2024 Advocacy Survey before its close will be automatically entered for a chance to win one of the prizes set out below. Participation in the survey does not require participation in the contest. A maximum of one entry per Participant is allowed. Entries become the property of the National Payroll Institute and will not be returned.

Prizes: The Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable. The National Payroll Institute reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a Prize or a component thereof with a prize of equal or greater value.

Drawing:  The draw for all Prizes will take place after the survey closes in the offices of Framework Analytics in Calgary, Alberta. One (1) potential winner and one (1) backup winner for each of the Prizes will be drawn at random from among all eligible automatic entries received during the Contest Period.

Eligibility: To be eligible to win any Prize, an entrant must: (a) be employed in Canada; (b) have reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside as of March 19, 2024; (c) not be an employee, representative or agent of the National Payroll Institute, nor be someone domiciled with any such person, and (d) have completed the National Payroll Institute’s 2024 Advocacy Survey as indicated above. The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.

Odds: The odds of winning the Prizes depend on the total number of eligible entries received throughout the Contest Period.

Use of Information: By opting to be a Participant, a Participant agrees to be entered into the Contest. If selected as a potential winner for the Contest, it will be necessary for the National Payroll Institute to verify that a potential winner fulfills the eligibility criteria for the Contest. No permanent records of any such personal information will be retained by such parties except for the administration of this Contest.

Additional Terms: By participating, all Participants agree to: (a) these Rules and the decisions of the National Payroll Institute which shall be final and binding without right of appeal in all respects; and (b) release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the National Payroll Institute, its Board of Directors and staff, their advertising or promotional agencies, and any of the foregoing entities’ respective officers, directors, affiliates, related entities, partners, partnerships, principals, representatives, agents, licensees, employees, vendors, successors and assigns (collectively the “Contest Parties”) from any liability, claims, or damages, demands, actions, or causes of action whatsoever which they, their heirs, successors, assigns, executors, or administrators may now or hereafter have directly or indirectly against them or any of them in respect of or relating to the Contest, an entrant’s participation in the Contest, and/or the acceptance or use, misuse, or possession of a Prize. By accepting a Prize, each winner agrees to the National Payroll Institute’s and its designee’s use of their name, city, province or territory of residence and/or photograph or other likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without notice or compensation. All national, provincial and local laws and regulations apply.

Limitation of Liability: The Contest Parties shall not be responsible for print or typographical errors in the offer or administration of the Contest or any other Contest-related materials; for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, or incomplete entries; or for transactions that are posted late or incorrectly or are lost due to computer or electronic malfunction. The National Payroll Institute reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud or technical failures compromise the integrity of the Contest as determined by the National Payroll Institute in their sole discretion.

Privacy Policy: By entering this Contest, you consent to the National Payroll Institute and its promotional agencies storing and using the personal information submitted through automatic entry for the purpose of administering the Contest in accordance with these Rules.

Law: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Contest Rules or the rights and obligations as between the entrant and the Sponsor in connection with the Contest shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Ontario including procedural provisions without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws.

Language Discrepancy: In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in Contest-related materials, the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the English language version and the French language version, the English version shall prevail, govern and control.

For Residents of Quebec: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a Prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
